Two Trees Sapphire mount for 60mm mainboard fan
thingiverse
My Sapphire PSU had a 12-volt fan spinning wildly on a 24-volt power feed, screaming like a jet engine and making a racket. I wanted to swap it out for something quieter, so I decided between using a 24-to-12-volt voltage converter, a 24-volt fan or two 12-volt fans in series. Since I didn't have any converters and 24-volt fans that size are scarce, I opted for two 12-volt fans connected in series, one inside the PSU and another to replace the mainboard fan. This setup is designed to hold the mainboard fan securely. If you're using the printer version with a bottom plate (Two Trees calls it a "sheel," but that's a mystery), it's smart to drill some holes where the fan draws in air, or else the fan won't be very effective. I chose SilentiumPC Zephyr 60 fans https://www.silentiumpc.com/en/product/zephyr-60/, which are remarkably quiet, and while any 12-volt 60x60x15mm fan would work, I highly recommend good quality fans. At one point, I connected a 40x40x10 fan in series with the original 60x60x10 PSU fan, and even that was much better than the original setup (12V PSU fan running off 24V), but it caused some weird vibrations, so it's always best to use high-quality fans.
