I recently acquired a Two Trees Sapphire 3D Printer, and I'm really fond of its frame and the Core XY Motion system. However, I've noticed that the extruder and hot-end could use some improvement, especially with upgraded cooling fans. To address this, I decided to undertake a major modification that would allow for future upgrades to the printer. The changes I made include: * Upgrading to Duet 3 * Installing an E3D V6 hotend * Replacing the original fans with a 50x15 radial blower that delivers a quiet and efficient cooling performance of 3.85CFM, producing only 25dbA ±10% noise level * Adding a BLTouch leveling sensor for precise printing results * Implementing a Zesty Nimble remote drive extruder (I'm still waiting for its delivery) This modification has significantly reduced the printer's footprint while maintaining an excellent performance level. Although I need to modify the mounting plate to accommodate the hot-end on the opposite side, facing forward, this isn't a pressing concern as I'm not printing large parts at present. One of the most appealing aspects of this setup is its potential for tool-changing capabilities, which could greatly enhance my printing experience.
