Two-Story Spec House
thingiverse
Architects recently showcased their house design model at 1/8" = 1'-0" scale, created using AutoCAD two-dimensional drawings in SketchUP version 8. The project seemed challenging until the latest RepG 0037 and Replicator firmware 5.5 updates made it possible with impressive speed and quality. Detailed to full interior, the model is divided into three detachable parts for client viewing convenience. Remarkably, minimal trimming or cleanup was needed after plotting. Kudos to the hardworking individuals perfecting our design tools! The bot can be viewed online at www.justin.tv/bot14me2. Apologies for the oversight regarding .stl files' proper scaling, thanks to 'guus46a' and 'MangoT21' for their assistance. To find the ideal balance between durability, size, clarity, and print speed, standard RepG accelerated settings (10% fill) with three shells and 1/8"=1'-0" scale were used, while an acetone pre-wipe and a cricut spatula were employed for removal.
