Two Prudential Plaza stands as a 64-story skyscraper built in the Loop area of Chicago, Illinois, United States in 1990. At 995 feet tall, it ranks sixth among Chicago's tallest buildings and thirteenth nationwide. This structure earns its title as the world's tallest building under 1000 feet. Loebl, Schlossman & Hackl designed Two Prudential with Stephen T. Wright leading design efforts. The building has received eight awards, including the Best Structure Award from the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois in 1995. At completion, it held the record for world's tallest reinforced concrete building. Its unique shape features stacked chevron setbacks on north and south sides, a pyramidal peak rotated 45°, and an 80 foot spire. Attached to One Prudential Plaza (formerly known as the Prudential Building), Two Prudential Plaza's height remains slightly greater than its sister property's pinnacle without its spire. In May 2006, BentleyForbes acquired both properties for $470 million, a Los Angeles-based real estate investment firm led by Carl Frederick Wehba and his son Carl Frederick Wehba II.
