two piece filament spool holder - rigidbot
thingiverse
This is a versatile centering device that spins onto your filament spool, securing it on an 8 mm rod - commonly found in the Rigidbot. It's a variation of several similar designs available on Thingiverse. The threaded connections have enough play to ensure smooth assembly after printing. Its two-piece design makes it easier to assemble than a three-piece model (two ends and a threaded rod). Inspired by http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:940762, which features a three-piece design with tight clearances - at least on my printer. Versions 4 and 5 are designed for applications requiring a shorter rod. I use this in conjunction with my clip-on filament feed (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1570573) to prevent tangles and misfeeds. Print Settings: Printer: Rigidbot Regular Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 30% Notes: I've successfully used ABS and PETG materials. How I Designed This I created this using Openscad with the threads.scad library.
