Updated 1/17/17: Two innovative electronic control knob designs have been introduced: Fill holes with Fima (bake at 110 degrees in toaster oven for 30 minutes or use two-part plastic resin) A new design, "knob2," features a paddle insert instead of a central well. "Knob3" boasts holes that can be filled with paint or two-part plastic resin. This project showcases a 3D printed two-part radio/electronics knob. The top part fits snugly into the base under pressure. The top can be painted a different color or printed in various colors of plastic. Post-Printing Color the Top Paint the top part a unique color or print it in a distinct color of plastic. Design Process CAD Design Truespace 7.6 was used for CAD design, taking only 7 minutes. Print time was 6 minutes, utilizing a Flashforge Finder printer with PLA material.
