Two-part knife with textured grip
thingiverse
I crafted this knife with a specific goal in mind: printing the grip using Cura's "fuzzy skin" setting would ensure a seamless fit between parts. Thankfully, my print turned out flawlessly, with all components meshing perfectly together. However, I did notice that disabling the "fuzzy skin" setting could lead to a loose fit, which was precisely what happened when I accounted for the fuzzy skin's presence in planning the tolerances. Despite this minor issue, the knife looks and feels excellent overall – although I recognize that further refinement of the grip would make it an even more comfortable hold in my hand. The assembly itself is remarkably sturdy, capable of withstanding disassembly and reassembly without compromising its integrity; for added security, I could always opt to glue the components together if desired.
