Two Mirror Image Cube Construction Puzzles

Two Mirror Image Cube Construction Puzzles

thingiverse

Here are two straightforward puzzles, each consisting of three components that can be combined into a single cube. The cube itself comprises 27 sub-cubes, which form a standard 3x3x3 arrangement. Piece 8a contains eight sub-cubes, piece 9a features nine sub-cubes, and piece 10a boasts ten sub-cubes. The set of "b" pieces in the second puzzle are exact mirror images of their corresponding "a" counterparts. The puzzles themselves aren't overly challenging, but it's not uncommon for solvers to experience false starts along the way. To heighten the difficulty level, you can try adding an extra piece or two with your non-dominant hand to a puzzle and instructing the solver that only three pieces are required to construct a cube. For an even greater challenge, mix all six pieces together and inform the solver that they're working towards building not one, but two separate cubes. OpenSCAD code is provided for those who wish to delve deeper into the world of 3D puzzle design.
