Two-Layer Pixel 3 Case - with scad files

Well, phone cases are pricey, especially the high-quality ones. If you own a Pixel 3 and wonder how to keep it scratch-free, here's one possibility. I've always preferred phone cases with a soft inner layer and a hard outer shell, so that's exactly what I created for this one. Please note that you should make the outer case from PETG, not PLA. I tried using PLA and it was quite stiff. The under layer is designed to be made with NinjaFlex. If you saw this on November 2nd, 2018, please note that I've uploaded new .stl files since then. These include a hole for the third microphone (located on the top edge of the phone, directly above the camera lens). I've also widened the screen-window-space to make it easier to reach links on the screen that are close to the edges of the phone case. On November 5th, 2018, I updated again. I added a NinjaFlex case without a hole for the buttons. Instead, I raised the strips of material over the buttons. Working with bridges is difficult in NinjaFlex, so this one looks a bit sleeker (in my opinion). I've left the other one available as well, as it's a matter of personal preference. On December 20th, I added a hard case featuring Athena's helmet design on it. It also hugs the NinjaFlex portion a bit tighter. And then, on April 1st, 2019, I uploaded the OpenSCAD files. Have fun with them – I hope they're useful. Please tag me in remakes; I'd love to see how people have improved them and learn from their experiences. Your feedback is greatly appreciated! I've also tested the print with a screen protector you can get from the Google Store, called "Invisible Shield." There's about half a millimeter of clearance on either side, so there shouldn't be any issues. Although I designed this for myself, I'm considering making versions for left-handed people and those with smaller hands as well. If you're interested in these options, let me know. When putting the cases on your phone: 1) Turn off the phone. 2) Remove all stringing from the prints (the fit is made to be snug, and any lumps or strings will interfere with the fit). 3) Push the phone into the NinjaFlex. 4) Tip the button-side of the NinjaFlex-and-phone into the PETG shell. 5) Work the other side around the NinjaFlex-and-phone. And that's it – your phone is in its case! When removing it: 1) Turn off the phone. 2) Place the long side of the phone on a flat surface, with the screen facing away and the button side down. This keeps them from getting pushed as you remove the case. 3) Place your fingers across the long edge that's now up, tip the phone forward so that your first knuckles touch the table surface, and gently press the back of the PETG with your thumbs. When one corner pops out, just work it the rest of the way out of the case. Done – your phone is out of its case!
