Two Hulled Impeller Boat RC (experimental)
cults3d
I wanted to unleash the full potential of my impeller. As demonstrated in the video of the impeller boat, the high-mounted and heavy motor was already prone to capsizing with minimal throttle applied. So I combined two long boats to create a vessel resembling a two-hulled boat. The second design is an enlarged version of the original impeller boat. Both boats require a bridge to support the impeller housing that connects them. A single rudder should suffice, positioned on the motor boat with its keel. Of course, two hulls demand more power, allowing for speed only when using a robust motor. Sometimes, you may hear a hissing sound; then water splashes into the turbine. Eventually, there was even some water inside the boat. The significant advantage is that this design will hardly capsize. Don't forget to secure the stern tube by closing it properly. I used M2 screws covered with heat shrink tubing to prevent splash water from entering the boat, a mistake I wouldn't want you to make.
