Two bearing-based spool holder

Two bearing-based spool holder

I went to the store to buy bearings but they were out of stock on 608s so I only got two 609s and decided to create a new filament spool holder from scratch using a pair of 609 bearings. Unlike many other designs, this one starts with a single upright print that forms the base. The spool is centered using pyramidal endcaps held together by a central threaded bar which ensures perfect alignment in the center for any size spool hole. In addition to printing these parts, you'll also need two 609 bearings to get started. UPDATE (28 Feb 2019): To improve stability, I added a fake bearing as a replacement for real ones since they caused some spools to unwind too easily. I also included crossbar3 which is slightly longer so it won't slip off the bearings. UPDATE (28 Mar 2019): As an alternative to the complex centered-screw bearing design, you can use a simple fixed bar. To do this, all you need to print are the cage and the simple_bar.
