A Minimalist Two Axle Trailer Dolly ==================== This extremely basic trailer dolly features frame rails, a tongue, fifth wheel plate, and rear bumper - nothing more, yet still some decent scale details in the fifth wheel plate and frame rails that are robust enough even in PLA. Tamiya hardware ------------------------ This design includes integrated mounting holes for the widely used Tamiya two axle leaf spring suspension setup. There are options on thingiverse to print most of these parts as well. The other parts come from Tamiya kits, including the fifth wheel itself, associated mounting hardware and release mechanism. You can also obtain the rectangle taillight lenses from the flatbed kit and mudflaps or make your own. Additional hardware needed --------------------------------------- The front tongue is held in place by 4mm battery bullet connectors and you'll need a few extra 3mm screws (the same as used in all Tamiya kits) to assemble it. The rear bumper and top plate use wood style threads and thread right into the rails. All other fasteners have a recessed hole for a flanged lock nut also used in Tamiya kits. The tongue ---------------- The tongue is currently designed to leverage the rc4wd pintle hook mount. It's not the cheapest option, but it looks pretty good and I think is accurate for the style used in the US. If you want a specific type of mount, post in the comments and I'll do my best to provide it and add it to the make, or you can load up that .stl into tinkercad and create it for yourself.
