Twists1
thingiverse
This part is comprised of six uniquely shaped ellipses arranged in a circular formation, each defining the contours of a three-dimensional surface generated by sweeping a triangle along an elliptical curve. Although they may appear as a single entity, each twisted ellipse stands alone. To facilitate stable printing, I secured all the components on a base to ensure optimal contact with the print bed. To gain a better understanding of this part's design, please refer to the accompanying 32-second video: https://youtu.be/TdTLXxjGHbw. This part was successfully printed in 19 hours and 11 minutes using a print speed of 80 mm per second and a layer height of 0.200 millimeters. To replicate this result with your printer, it must be precisely calibrated to produce string-free prints with accurate Z-value control, as the hotend can easily collide with one of the ellipse sections if not properly aligned. Given the length of many ellipse sections, I recommend setting your slicer's Z-Hop parameter to a value greater than zero for optimal printing performance.
