Twists1
cults3d
This part is comprised of six twisted ellipses arranged in a circular formation. Each elliptical shape defines the contours of a three-dimensional surface created by sweeping a triangle along its curved path. Initially, they may appear as a single unit, but each twisted ellipse is indeed separate. To ensure stable printing, I placed all the pieces on a base for enhanced contact with the print bed. To better understand the part's visual appearance, view the accompanying 32-second video: https://youtu.be/TdTLXxjGHbw. This part was printed in 19 hours and 11 minutes at a speed of 80 mm/sec, utilizing a layer height of 0.200 mm. To successfully print this design, it is crucial that your printer is finely tuned to produce string-free prints with precise Z-value control. The hotend must be carefully positioned to avoid crashing into the ellipse sections, which can easily occur due to their length. Given the numerous long ellipse sections, set your slicer's Z-Hop (or Z-Lift) parameter to a value greater than zero for optimal results.
