Twister Vase

Twister Vase

thingiverse

A vase that resembles a whirlwind in my eyes, prompting me to name it accordingly. This is a sister model of my Coiled Vase, utilizing the same mathematical foundation. The double twister merely builds upon the single version by amplifying its twists and verticality. These designs are specifically intended for printing in vase mode; the larger the nozzle diameter, the better. My photographs showcase prints made with a 0.8mm nozzle. I apologize for the size of the STL files, as they were necessary to avoid surface irregularities when scaling up. The shape is purely mathematical, generated by a seemingly simple piece of SCAD code that creates overlapping rings rising and spiraling outward from a central axis. I created these designs on a whim but was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. For reference, the simple twister model took 2.5 hours to render on my Core I7 system and at one point occupied over 6GB of RAM.
