The Twister III is an F5B electric glider crafted by ICARE rc, boasting a 1.7 meter wing span and a motor mount diameter of 36mm. The total standoff diameter measures 40mm. To enhance the plane's strength, I utilized carbon fibre rods connecting the inrunner to the nose, creating a more rigid structure. Holes were drilled into the inrunner to accommodate the carbon fibre, which was then glued securely inside the plane's nose using 30-minute epoxy. Despite experiencing a rough maiden landing due to gusty winds, the Twister III held its ground admirably. This modification effectively saved around 9-10 ounces of lead, translating to over half a pound in weight reduction. The result is a fast and lightweight electric glider that combines exceptional gliding characteristics with impressive speed. With an AUW of 2.5 pounds, the Twister III has become a top-notch performer. Its remarkable design makes it an ideal model for enthusiasts seeking a balanced blend of agility and efficiency. In designing the Twister III, I invested approximately 15 minutes. Feel free to use my blueprint as a foundation and scale it up or down according to your needs to create your own unique electric glider.
