Twist Lid for Gatorade Bottles

Twist Lid for Gatorade Bottles

I'm thrilled with Gatorade twist tops on watermelon bottles and I'm determined to keep them from disappearing forever. Unfortunately, those iconic bottles are now a rare sight so I've decided to recreate the model before it's lost in history. Originally made by injection moulding, there are some design elements that aren't very printer-friendly which is why there will be multiple choices. One option is the original version exactly as it was and the others will have tweaks from me for better FFF printing results. Tweaks I've made so far include: - Walls now 0.8 instead of 1.0 - Mouthpiece seal supported with 5 spokes rather than 3 - Mouthpiece is solid, not a shell - Connector is now a distinct piece on its own - 0.1 thickness added to underside of overhang for better slicer and printer performance I'm genuinely blown away by how well this has turned out, and it should be relatively easy to modify the design to fit any bottle once the kinks are ironed out. Latest Update: It's proving really tough to make a design that's actually water-tight so the "optimised" design is still only 90% functional. It works but not yet for backpacking adventures.
