Twist in chain toy for small birds - low support material needed

thingiverse

This is a compact cage designed specifically for wire mesh "Chinese breeder", "rectangle" or "finch wire" enclosures, terms that refer to welded wire cages commonly manufactured in Asia.\r\n\r\nIt features smooth rounded edges, allowing it to be used both horizontally and vertically without putting excessive pressure on the birds' tiny feet. The rounded base requires a bit of extra support material but the chain itself does not need any additional reinforcement. After printing, make sure all loose filaments are removed as they can easily become toe-catchers or choking hazards. I prefer to use a lighter to melt away small threads and ensure the external layers are securely fused together.\r\n\r\nThis design has successfully worked with ABS, PETG, and PLA on both my Raise3D E2 and Dremmel printers.\r\n\r\nI always use a raft if I'm not confident in the bed adhesion of my filament. For the Dremmel, no raft is needed, but for the Raise3D E2, a raft is usually required unless I'm feeling particularly adventurous.
