TwinStar 2 GoPro case mount
thingiverse
Platform for securely mounting a GoPro in its protective waterproof case on a TwinStar 2 remote-controlled plane. Requires a Ø4-5mm full-threaded bolt, a nut, and preferably two small washers for safe tightening without damaging the plastic of either the print or the GoPro case. The platform replaces the default foam cockpit of the plane and is held firmly in place by rubber bands wrapped around its body. The "Stopper" piece fits snugly into the two holes of the platform and prevents it from sliding forward, thanks to the vertical faces pushing against the foam walls in front of the servos below. Important: The "stopper" piece must be kept in place against the platform and plane with a rubber band over it. A small gap is provided on the upper side of the stopper for this purpose (as seen in pictures). It's recommended to use multiple rubber bands to secure the platform, but one over the stopper is essential. I successfully flew my TwinStar 2 with this setup just hours after printing it, and everything worked flawlessly. The nut and bolt can be tightened so that the camera can be tilted into position while still remaining fixed in place during flight.
