Twin Tops is my take on Grand Illusions' Magneturn (grand-illusions.com). Spinning one top sets the other in motion thanks to magnetics. The design also reduces rotational friction through opposing magnets between the Base tower tops and each Top. Combined, these features make Twin Tops an excellent educational tool for learning about magnetics. My rendition is larger than the original, making it more kid-friendly (easier to grasp, harder to put down). You'll need to buy 10 neodymium disk magnets with a diameter of 12mm and a thickness of 3mm to complete Twin Tops. I've purchased these magnets from a local hardware store (Ace) and online (Amazon).
