Twin Tops

I took inspiration from Grand Illusions "Magneturn" to create my own rendition, which I call "Twin Tops". This design allows for the creation of motion in one top by spinning the other thanks to the power of magnetics. To reduce rotational friction, opposing magnets are placed between the base tower tops and each individual top. When combined, these features make for a fantastic educational tool on magnetism. My version is larger than the original, making it more suitable for kids to grasp while being challenging enough not to be too easy. To complete "Twin Tops", you'll need 10 neodymium disk magnets, measuring 12mm in diameter and 3mm thick. I've sourced these magnets from both local hardware stores like Ace and online retailers such as Amazon. You can see a prototype of my design in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woXns1lunyA. To get an idea of the original "Magneturn" by Grand Illusions, check out their video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zllYJokkvV4&t=10s. My design was created using Fusion 360 and sliced with Cura 2.3.1 before being printed in PLA on an Ultimaker 3 Extended.
