Twin Screw Supercharger Example Gadget - 3:5 Ratio Gearing
thingiverse
These two peculiar gears will unite in a 3:5 ratio. They were produced using dual nozzle printing with water-soluble support material, so it's best to print them vertically if possible. Observing the varying rotational speeds of these seemingly incongruous gears is fascinating. In reality, they swiftly compress and pump air, boosting a vehicle's power intake. Note that the image showcases an earlier model, which has since been improved for online uploading; however, the case wasn't 3D printed due to time constraints for a class project. The models were designed in CATIA, with STL files available for the new case, which will be glued together post-printing to securely encase the gears. Upon assembly, these gears will display distinct rotational speeds.
