A little improved Inventor 2020 version (rearranged subassemblies and a small bug fix) of the Twin-cylinder_steam_engine which I posted here some days ago (Twin-cylinder_steam_engine). In the old version, only a pure kinematic analysis of the mechanism can be performed. This new version has been optimized for a dynamic simulation. The motion is no longer controlled by a forced rotational movement of the crank shaft 2-01, but by the forces (steam pressure) acting on the pistons 2-03. The value of this force is influenced by the position of the sliders 2-05. You can now "play" with different values of different parameters and this way examine the behavior of the mechanism and optimize its parameters, e.g. the influence of the Excenter angle (the parameter "Excenter_Crank" in the subassembly 2-01) on the efficiency, or the influence of the direction of the gravity (i.e. the position of the model - as shown or upside down or cylinders horizontally), or the interrelation between the load torque, the steam pressure (Force) and the speed of the crank_shaft and so on. Have fun
