Tweaked Minion RAMPS 1.4 for MPCNC
thingiverse
Thank you technomastermind for designing this innovative project. Thanks to Allted for creating the MPCNC, a game-changing tool that has opened up new possibilities in rapid prototyping and manufacturing. The original design of this case did not fit my Arduino board perfectly. The power jack and USB ports were positioned about 5mm too far to the right. As I began modifying the design to address this issue, I decided to use a smaller fan and place it on the end. While this might result in inadequate airflow, I'll deal with that challenge when it arises. By removing the dual fans from the side, I was able to create a narrower design, which unfortunately means that some parts may not fit the original design. The body is designed to accommodate a 40mm fan guard: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:933714. The fan is securely fastened from the inside. This summary will be updated as my project progresses. Changes I've made from the original design include: * adjusting the USB and power connector openings * removing the dual fans and placing a 40mm fan on the end * narrowing the chamber * adjusting the tolerances for fitting pieces to 0.2mm all around * reducing the base height by 5mm * adding 4mm depth to the LCD bezel to accommodate connectors Print Settings: Printer: Dreamer Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 30% Notes: I'm using three perimeter lines, so the screw holes can be drilled larger. The body will require supports; the bottom prints fine without them. Post-Printing: Drill out the holes for the screws you'll be using.
