TV Tripod Hub
thingiverse
When my wife and I first got married, we lived in a small old house that had a charming living room centered around a warm fireplace, but there was no ideal spot for a media center or television cabinet. As TVs have become thinner, lighter, and more internet-enabled over time, I thought it would be a great idea to create a custom tripod for our TV. I discovered a helpful online post where someone had adapted a field monitor tripod to fit their television perfectly, but unfortunately, the brilliant person who shared this clever solution no longer has an active online presence. I purchased the original tripod and adapter plate anyway and was excited to see it in action, except that it looked too commercial or industrial for my taste. I decided to get creative and built a custom hub using oak wood for the legs while reusing the center steel tube and mounting hardware from the original tripod. This way, I could give our TV stand a more residential look and feel. If you're interested in creating your own TV tripod, you can easily find the necessary parts by searching for "field monitor mount" on Amazon or at a camera retailer.
