TV/Monitor Flexible Mounting system 8mm Rod
thingiverse
Using 8mm rod for mounting monitors is a real headache, as those nuts take ages to place on the rods. They need to be tightened extremely tightly and coach bolts are no use at all because they simply spin around in the plastic. Getting access to the nuts close to the wall is next to impossible and printing out all the parts took forever. It still manages to work, however. If I were to do it again, I'd rather buy some steel rectangle section and use that instead, as rods tend to twist way too much. Instructions For those who think they can pull this off All the parts are properly aligned so print them according to requirements. I printed with 20% infill, three perimeters, three layers on top and bottom, 0.3mm layer height, and no support at all. The spacers come in multiples of 17mm. The required hardware consists of 8mm threaded rod cut to size 8mm nuts and washers 38mmx8mm repair washers for the top and bottom pillars (this is essential or you'll simply squish the plastic) Loctite or thread lock is absolutely necessary The 68mm Hinge spacer will give 17mm of adjustment up or down and the 85 one should give 32mm by turning the threaded rod. I slotted the three rods attached to each monitor so I could use a flat screwdriver for fine adjustments after complete assembly. Note: It's easier to create the frame and monitors off the wall then remove them before mounting, it's almost impossible to assemble directly onto the wall as you will be forever removing the rods to cut them down. Having done it this way, I wouldn't bother.
