Tutorial "Thinking different"
thingiverse
Spaceclaim project to build a bumper car, starting with design from scratch and creating a streamlined process. Instead of struggling to put ideas on paper first, it's often better to start working directly on the screen right away. The advantage of this approach is that your coworkers will be unlikely to interrupt you, even when they catch you sleeping at your desk. "No one bother him – he's in the zone where creativity flourishes." Below are step-by-step instructions for a streamlined bumper car project in Spaceclaim: 1. Begin by devising a strategy that requires minimal work. 2. Create a basic profile to build upon. 3. From this foundation, create a solid object (like a curved line that meets). 4. Construct a massive plane and from it, shape the car body solid. 5. Place the solid into the bumper tire. 6. Duplicate the tire and subtract the original solid from the copied one. 7. Replicate the upper part of the base plate and then remove the bottom piece with another solid. 8. Flip the lower base plate on to mirror that used for it previously on top, but eliminate the old reflection plane afterwards. 9. Add the holes onto each base plate prior to mirroring this entire operation. (As a post-script I have inserted some text of an unrelated user from other conversation - ignore.)
