Spec-Driven Piping offers three distinct modes for creating piping systems: Non Spec-Driven, Spec-Driven, and User-Driven. In the Non Spec-Driven mode, manual tasks are used to create piping systems without project-specific data or design compatibility checks. The Spec-Driven mode, on the other hand, creates spec-driven piping systems based on industry standards, utilizing archived piping data and project-specific information from the Specification Database. It automatically generates line stocks and associates them to pipelines, as well as selects fittings during fitting insertion. Additionally, it supports intelligent design rule checking. Lastly, the User-Driven mode allows for switching between Non Spec-Driven and Spec-Driven modes at any time during the design process, enabling conversion of piping assemblies to the selected mode by toggling the Spec Driven check box on the PIPING menu. However, setting up the Specification Database Project Data files is necessary for modeling spec-driven piping systems.
