
Tutorial: Complex shaped loft in Inventor (Dog Ear Duct Joint)

This project aims to recreate a duct joint similar to the attached image, shared as a challenge on GrabCAD by Lahin Khan. The true objective, however, is to demonstrate how intricate shapes can be controlled through parameters after proper skeleton-sketch preparation. The model uses well-structured 2D and 3D profiles for lofting. Due to issues encountered in the design process, the resulting shape must be square instead of rectangular. An alternative method involves isolating the desired section and rebuilding the frame accordingly. While Inventor could be blamed for this issue, a more objective approach is sought to eliminate symmetry loss from lofting. Any feedback on the design process is appreciated. A brief validation of dimensions in the i-part concludes the model. Ioannis
