Tusken Raider Gaffi Stick V1

Tusken Raider Gaffi Stick V1

This is a redesign of stormtrooperguys' gaffi stick. I separated it into two parts to make transport easier. You can see me wearing this costume in the second image, where I built a sniper rifle but always wanted a gaffi stick. The prop itself is quite large, about four feet long, so splitting it into two pieces made more sense. Firstly, I printed the weapon as intended and then bought two hollow carbon fibre rods to reinforce it. The first rod was 19mm by 1000mm for the main wooden end, while the second one was 13mm by 500mm for the metal spiked end. I noticed that the metal end rod was a bit longer than the metal parts and would slide down inside the wooden part, so I redesigned the connection between them to use screws. This way, they can be separated easily. You'll find all the parts included, both old and new, so you can print whatever suits your needs best. As an aside, I printed my wooden part in wood PLA and the metal part in silver PLA, and they turned out fantastic. Credit goes to the original designer, stormtrooperguy, whose work can be found on Thingiverse - https://www.thingiverse.com/stormtrooperguy/about. Enjoy! Edit 25/01/2020: I corrected the files and added an internal screw-in mechanism for the metal parts, as well as tidied up the external screw-in parts. Now you have a choice between the two designs.
