This part then clicks into place with the lock of the case: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3052378. The other piece can be adjusted to accommodate different spool widths. First, I printed the standard spool holder that came with the compact case but it couldn't handle my 2.5kg spools. This design uses less material, is more versatile and has reduced roll resistance. It can be printed without supports if your printer handles overhangs and bridging well. You may need to file for a few seconds afterwards.
