Turtle Ring Design for Metal Casting and 3D Printing. Most rings are created with a US size of 8, which has an approximate diameter of 18.14mm. This size will not pose any issues with wall thickness when scaled up for most metal 3D printing applications. To adjust the ring to fit your finger size, we recommend using Meshmixer, a free software from Autodesk. Import the ring and navigate to Analysis/Measure in the left menu. Select Type: Edge to Edge, Direction: Outward (N), and Snapping Mode: Snap to Vertices. Click on the inner diameter of the ring to get a red line with a reading on the right side. To scale up the ring, go to Edit/Transform and increase any size value, ensuring Uniform Scaling is checked. Repeat the measuring process until you achieve your desired finger size. Once complete, export the model in STL Binary Format, which is highly recommended. All published models are for personal use only. If you require commercial use or a custom design, please contact me directly. To replicate the polish/finish of the rendered ring image with a dark cavity, print the ring using vintage/antique silver from i.materialise. Alternatively, search YouTube for "how to oxidize silver at home" for alternative methods.
