Turtle Night Light

Turtle Night Light

I designed a simple LED circuit that incorporates a tilt ball sensor attached to the back of a button cell battery holder. When set upright, the circuit lights an LED; flipping it upside down turns off the LED. My wife wanted this device as part of an emergency nightlight next to her bed in the shape of a turtle. I used this request as motivation to develop my skills with Fusion 360, since 123D Design is no longer supported. Both the body and shell must have supports enabled during printing. There are two versions of the shell: one has bumps for stability when placed on its side or back, while the other is mostly smooth with a single flat spot on top to aid bed adhesion during printing. The body was printed in green PLA and the shells in glow-in-the-dark PLA. A tight tolerance at the head ensures that the shell fits securely without needing glue.
