Turntable Motor Module

Turntable Motor Module

One of the first things I printed when I got my hands on a 3D printer a few months back was Bribro12's sleek turntable design. (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3723618) I recently acquired Arduino-powered electronics and decided to give motorizing bribros design a shot. Since the crank is threaded, it seemed like a great opportunity. It's designed around the 5V DC 28BYJ stepper motor, which I thought would be perfect for the task at hand. Unfortunately, it turns out that it doesn't have quite enough torque at the 3:1 ratio, and even though it runs on higher voltage, it gets scorching hot when running continuously. I'm posting this as is, but if anyone requests, I could easily modify the shaft length of the pinion and the gear geometry to a more manageable 2:1 ratio. Thanks for stopping by. Also, if there's something I can design for you, feel free to drop me a line on fiverr: https://www.fiverr.com/share/pdgm9N https://youtu.be/rM9Qx1MjL-4
