Turntable Isolation

When using my turntable on high volumes, the bass was creating a feedback loop which was enough to cause the needle to jump. I was even able to start the feedback loop by hitting the carpet. I tried a number of different ideas and suggestions, before finding a comment on a forum. Someone said that years ago in the clubs, they would use rubber bands on ashtrays to support the turntable. This gave me the idea of creating something which I can attach rubber bands to for support. After testing, I am no longer getting the feedback loop. This project has two parts The main support area with mounting points for the rubber bands The leg extension. This just sits on top of the rubber bands. Depending on the feet on your player and weight, this may not be needed or you may need to make it longer I found standard envelope rubber bands work when doubled over. Double them over, then stretch them only at the point you are putting it over the mounting points. This allows it to fit while still being springy in the middle. You will need a minimum of two rubber bands crossing in the middle, but you can add more if your player is heavy. This thing was made with Tinkercad.
