Turntable Cover Hinge
thingiverse
I've been struggling with my turntable's broken hinge for many years now, but I recently acquired the necessary parts to repair it. The process turned out to be quite a challenge as obtaining the correct dimensions was extremely difficult. You can see just how intricate this part is and how crucial it is that it fits perfectly in order to function properly. One major hurdle I encountered was accurately replicating the spring retainer and metal bracket's precise fit. The original part employed a long rivet as its pivot pin, so I opted for a 4mm screw and nut instead. After a lengthy period of time - literally decades - my turntable is finally back to full functionality. The Sony PSX600 turntable remains an excellent model even today. I think I purchased it in the mid to late 70's. This computerized turntable allows you to fully control it with the cover closed, utilizing a bio-tracer tone arm that relies on servo motors to move the arm and apply the tracking force. You can adjust the tracking force while playing a record, which is one of its standout features. Despite all these years, I still have a great deal of affection for this turntable.
