Turnigy 9xr/pro faceplate
thingiverse
Here's a basic DIY faceplate replacement for 9XR/PRO radios designed to accommodate non-original gimbal replacements like Taranis while providing full stick travel functionality. The primary goal was to create a setup compatible with vinyl covering, but paint or the original surface will work just as well. The design is 95% fitted to the radio's surface, except for the upper gimbal opening which sits slightly higher than necessary. This minor issue can be easily resolved by heating the plate from behind with a heat gun along the red outlines shown in the image, then placing it back on the radio and gently running a finger along its side under slight downward pressure. The fit is ultimately a matter of personal preference, but pushing too hard will give the opening an oval shape. I've included a second print option featuring rounded inside corners, which I found helps to mitigate the issue of vinyl lifting from sharp transitions within the corners. This should provide a more even adhesion surface and eliminate that annoying tension. Have fun!
