Turnbuckle Boot Cap
thingiverse
Sailing vessels often feature cylindrical covers made of plastic or rubber for their shrouds and stays' lower parts (the supporting wires of the mast). These covers are known as "Turnbuckle Boots". Typically, they have caps on top; however, broken or missing caps are common. This 3D-printed object serves as a replacement for those caps. It is fully parametric and prints flawlessly without support. Check the pictures to see its result on my boat. To customize it, download the OpenSCAD source file and make the necessary edits. The print process was hassle-free, even on a RepRap Prusa Mendel without additional instructions.
