Turnbuckle
thingiverse
This turn buckle is fully functional once threads have been turned using a 5/16ths tap and dye. Ensure the turnbuckle itself is printed vertically to avoid needing supports during printing. When cutting threads on the eye bolt, cut only a few at a time, back off, then cut some more, and repeat this process carefully. Excessive torque can destroy the part; using an organic oil like olive or coconut as a lubricant may be helpful. To ensure proper fit, you might need to increase the diameter of the turnbuckle itself due to printers not always printing precisely. Just make sure you're not using a bit larger than the tap threads. Here are the print settings used for a Davinci Jr 1.0 non-pro printer with XYZ PLA Clear Blue: Good quality (default setting for normal prints) 10% infill Normal thickness for shells 0.3mm layer height Standard speed (not specified in mm/ps) 217°C temperature
