A turnbuckle, also known as a stretching screw or bottlescrew, is an apparatus designed for adjusting the tension or length of ropes, cables, tie rods and other similar elements. It typically features two threaded eye bolts, one with a left-hand thread and the other with a right-hand thread, fastened to a small metal frame. Adjustments can be made by rotating the frame, which concurrently screws or unscrews both eye bolts without twisting them or the connected cables.
