Turkish tea is often served from a unique teapot known as an ibrik or cezve. This small pot has a long handle on one side and a short spout on the other, allowing for precise control over the flow of tea into the cups. The traditional Turkish tea-making process begins with the addition of sugar to the bottom of the cup. The amount of sugar used is typically determined by personal preference, but it's common for Turks to use a generous amount. Next, the teapot is filled with hot water and brought to a boil on the stovetop or over an open flame. Once boiling, the tea leaves are added to the pot, and the mixture is allowed to simmer for a few minutes. As the tea simmers, the flavors begin to meld together, and the aroma of the tea fills the air. The teapot is then removed from the heat source, and the tea is poured into the cups through the short spout. The serving process in Turkey is often a social event, with friends and family gathering around the table to share in the experience. As the tea is poured, it's common for Turks to say "Içelim" which means "Let's drink!"
