Turbine for a Jet engine model
thingiverse
A buddy of mine was building a jet engine model, and he asked if I could flip the blades on a turbine to get it working right. The problem was that the original part had its blades pitched in the wrong direction. To fix this, we needed to reverse each of the seven turbines so they slide onto a square shaft properly and nest one inside the next. I designed these parts using OpenSCAD in no time at all – just 15 minutes. These are meant for the Smithsonian Jet Works Working Jet Engine Model. Now you know how I managed to flip those turbine blades and make this model run smoothly. Here's what you need to do: 1. Print them out with silver PLA at a layer thickness of .1mm. 2. Slice your models with Cura – it'll give them that pro finish!
