Tuondokane Project for The Bathroom Mop Challenge

The Tuondokane Project, derived from Swahili meaning "The Mop," aims to recreate an authentic cleaning experience. Listen to this link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5c0L0jyQMM) for the atmosphere. The design requirements include a 7-inch circle (17.78 cm) and a total extended length of 4 feet (1.21 m). Refills can be easily changed without direct contact. A triangular shape is proposed for better corner cleaning. Various refill types are considered, such as those from Casabella (http://casabella.com/duster-refills/?sort=pricedesc). The benefits include reusability, easy machine washability, durability, and eco-friendliness. Other refill types could be used, like the outside-in principle for sponges, but similar ideas already exist in the market. The design features an equilateral triangle or circular shape that should be simplified, reducing the number of parts and handle design complexity. A spherical joint from Casabella products could replace the inclined handle for better ergonomics. The angle of the opening "clamps" can also be adjusted. Colors from Casabella's new Neon product line were used to add a splash of vivid colors. The concept showcases three basic principles: a button at the top of the handle for folding the mop, a handle lever for refill change, and triangular parts that press refills to a flat plate cover. Enjoy the updated version with better renderings, comparing the blue-red-white first version with the new black and orange design.
