Tunnel for Rod motor mount

Tunnel for Rod motor mount

thingiverse

This is the heavy-duty mounting hardware for the Rod motor mount (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3574454). It's a bit heavier than the spines (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3580178), but can withstand crashes with much bigger motors. Like the spines, you'll find series of holes on top of the tunnel for inserting security pins that will prevent the rod from slipping out. Insert your wood/aluminium/carbon fiber rod all the way through the tunnel, drill through it at designated spots and secure it with pins. Then slap on the Rod motor mount on the other end and you're ready to go. It can be printed without supports since the bridge is about 1 cm across, a distance that almost any printer can handle. Print with three bottom, top, and wall layers, and twenty percent infill or more for maximum strength. Before gluing your model together, please sand all surfaces that will come into contact with glue with one hundred grit sandpaper, and clean them with alcohol first.
