Tuning flywheel support bracket for Kenwood KR-6170 “Jumbo Jet” Stereo Receiver
thingiverse
This is a replacement part for a Kenwood KR-6170 stereo receiver. This bracket supports the shaft of the tuning flywheel. The critical dimensions are the diameter and location of the center hole. To achieve the necessary precision, the bracket is designed without the center hole and a separate drill guide is used to position the part for drilling the hole with a 13/64" drill bit. When drilling the hole, make sure the part is pressed firmly into the guide and held tightly, otherwise the part has a tendency to pivot backwards and the hole will not be centered. An earlier prototype printed in PLA caused an annoying squeak when the brass shaft turned in the hole. This version, printed in PETG, is silent. The original part is nylon, so you might try that instead of PETG. Thanks and a hat tip to Dmitriy for the commission and all the background info for this thing!
