I create this setup to quickly find the ideal settings for new filaments, using only minimal material to save time and cost. You can also use it as an intense test, dubbed "the fence of death." Begin by running at a high temperature, then systematically lower the temperature every 5-10 degrees to see how each setting performs. Adjust other parameters like retraction speed, but I recommend starting with temperature adjustments first. For my new PLA filament, I discovered that the optimal printing temperature is 175 degrees Celsius for the finest detail possible. Always print with a small brim for added stability during the printing process.
