Tuner Lug Socket Sleeve
pinshape
Summary This is a sleeve designed for spline drive socket adapters used with tuner lug nuts on aftermarket wheels. The sleeve protects steel sockets from scratching aluminum wheel lug nut wells. In retrospect, modeling this up and printing it seems unnecessary, as simply applying tape or Plasti Dip to the socket would achieve the same result. Update: A revised version with a base has been added, making it easier to start prints and providing a surface for pulling over the socket. This model is designed to print with two perimeters using a 0.3 mm nozzle, but no test prints have been made yet. Feedback from those who do print it would be appreciated. Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Printrbot Simple Metal Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: n/a Notes: The model is a solid cylinder, printed using Cura's "spiralize" and "outer mesh contours" features to create a single, nozzle-width perimeter with no top or bottom. Additional Print Settings Filament: FoxSmart Screamin Green Flexible TPU Hotend: 200 C Bed: 70 C Speed: 25 mm/s Fan: yes Shells/perimeters: 1 (0.3 mm) Top/bottom layers: 0 Nozzle diameter: 0.3 mm Post-Printing The base had to be cut with slits and used needle nose pliers to pull the sleeve on, which was a bit difficult. It might be helpful to add tabs in future designs for easier installation.
