This exceptional Eneolithic site spans over 100 hectares on a hillside overlooking the sea in Salento, dating back to the IIIrd millennium BC. A hundred cultic megalithic monuments of similar type are present, but no sign of residential settlements exists. The entire complex has been preserved intact for 5,000 years due to nearly total soil absence, preventing grazing and agricultural interventions alike. However, this situation is now changing, as rampant real estate speculation threatens to engulf every trace, rapidly transforming this magical site into typical tourist villages and coastal villas.
