Tumbleweed Plane

The 'Tumbleweed' is inspired by Experimental Airlines build techniques (https://www.youtube.com/user/ExperimentalAirlines), the popular Mini Talon, and other EA type builds from the FPV & RC community. I designed and built this for 3 reasons: 1. Put a spare motor to use that I had no idea what to do with. 2. CAD and 3D printing design skill improvement. 3. Expand on the EA build techniques to include 3D printed parts for unique configurations and easier repair/replacement of hardware after destructive crashes. This is a work in progress, with lots of room for improvement and weight savings. My current version is ~2.1kg with a 4,000mAh 6S battery all the way up front against the front Bulkhead. Below is my parts list for electronics and the print materials & parameters I used for the first iteration. AUW ~2kg (with GoPro) Wingspan: 60 inches Wing chord: 9.5 inches Fuse Length: ~32 inches Motor: Cobra 2820 840kV Prop: APC 9X6 FC: F405-Wing (INav 2.5) CRSF Diversity Rx AKK 5.8GHz VTx Ratel 2 cam Batt: 4,000mAh 6S The following parts were printed with TPU at 10% infill and 2 layers on the perimeter, top, and bottom layers: 1. Winglets 2. Forward Bulkhead 3. Nose Base 4. Nose Front 5. Rear Skid All other parts were printed with PETG with 15% infill (overkill in many instances). Dimensions for the foam board parts (wings, fuse, tail) will be provided shortly (by 2/24/21) to aid in your builds.
