This is a container, commonly referred to as a 'cup'. These cup containers are helpful, but sometimes they can be very frustrating. Especially when you drop these and they spill liquid all over the place. There are several inventions that cope with this issue, such as the adhesive bottom cup, which literally has an adhesive at the base. However, this solution is inconvenient since you have to pull your container apart from the surface to drink, Also, adhesives do not work well on rough surfaces. Under these circumstances, I came up with a plan to lock the lid of the container whenever it tipped, or was shaken, by using masses. I included an image and documents of one of my past projects, the 45degree case, which also uses masses and a rail and gear mechanism to lock the lid in place whenever it tips. The spillproof cup uses the exact same mechanism, with an addition of two pairs of level gears. The swinging motion of the masses are converted into a rotational movement of a gear via level gears, and the rail gear mechanism converts this into a back and forth sliding motion. This means that when the container is tipped or shaken, the swinging of masses inside the container causes the rails to slide into slots in the lid, locking it into place. This allows users to shake, drop, and 'spill' this particular type of cup container, without spilling its contents.
